We have a whole toolbox of online assets and we can decide together which combination meets your guests’ needs while clearly adding value to the different stages of the guests’ experience.
Here are some of the possible integrations:
- Integrating Links: Simple links you can include in your communications that direct customers to the experiences platform
- Banners: Image-based links which you can insert into your communications
- Integrating Widgets: Interactive widgets that showcase experiences and can be inserted into web pages
- Integrating API
- Integrating Email Image Links
Integrating Links
Links are the most common solution in affiliate marketing. A natural and organic way to lead readers where they want to go, they can be embedded behind text, images, and buttons. Links are easy to implement and generate the greatest results (particularly higher conversion rates) for content-driven websites, such as travel blogs.
How to create a link
Log in to the partner portal and click Tools at the top of the page. Then, click links and follow the instructions on the page. Make sure you have the URL of the GetYourGuide page that you want to link to.
To keep track of your link’s performance, you’ll need to give the link a campaign name and specify where on your webpage or blog post you plan to place it. After you provide this information, the page will generate a link that you can start using to refer people to GetYourGuide. Any clicks or bookings made through the link will be traced back to you, earning you a competitive commission.
To see how many clicks and bookings your links are getting, visit the Campaigns page. You will also be able to see the performance of your GetYourGuide integrations in all of your pages.
How do I choose which GetYourGuide tours to link to?
- Search for the destination on getyourguide.com. Our platform ranks activities based on popularity (best-selling and top-rated tours).
- Choose tour(s) based on their relevance to your content. Play around with our platform to explore different and unique categories that will appeal to your audience.
- Prioritize tours with high ratings and a large number of reviews.
There are five main types of landing pages on GetYourGuide that you can use:
Activity landing page
If you have a specific tour you’d like to promote, this is the way to go. e.g. Paella Cooking Experience in Barcelona
Attraction landing page
This option is best if you’re introducing a must-see attraction. Attraction pages list all of the tours we offer at a specific attraction. e.g. Eiffel Tower
City/country landing page
Direct your audience to a city/country landing page if your content is about a city in general. Linking to a city page will give your readers a good overview of things to do there. e.g. Rome
Search results landing page
Select the search results landing page if you have a particular activity type in mind but want to offer a range of choices. e.g. Berlin biking tours
Homepage
Want to introduce your readers to GetYourGuide? Allow them to explore our tours and activities in general here. e.g. www.getyourguide.com

Integrating Widgets
A widget is a banner your readers can click to find and book activities on GetYourGuide. You get commission for every activity your readers experience.
Widgets can be omnipresent on your website — if your sidebar is static (it’s on every page of your site) then widgets will always be visible. This makes navigation easier for your readers and means there’s always an opportunity to click. As our partner, you can use our widgets as another integration point of our tours to your website, as they allow you to display content in a more visual way.
What are the benefits of widgets?
- Easy to implement: just use the WordPress plugin or JavaScript widget
- Responsive: widgets automatically adapt to desktop and mobile
- Versatile: you can place widgets directly within the content or in the sidebar
- Aesthetically appealing: widgets have engaging visuals with reviews
At GetYourGuide we provide our partners with two kinds of widgets options, the activity widget and the city widget.
Activity widget
The activities widget is a JavaScript-based tool that allows you to showcase the top tours in a city or category, or curate your own selection of tours to display — we recommend featuring three.
City widget
If you’d like to give your readers a preview of everything a city has to offer, city widgets are the way to go. Each widget has an eye-catching photo and teaser content provided by GetYourGuide. It’s a good solution for a broader integration, where you want to give the readers the opportunity to explore more of a location without suggesting specific tours.
How to create an activity or city widget
- Once you log in, click Tools in the bar at the top of your screen. You’ll see the options to set up a city or activity widget.
- With an activity widget, you can highlight specific activities relevant to your content.
- To show top activities based on search terms, a city, or geographical coordinates, select Search.
- To create a city widget, enter the city’s airport code. Don’t know the code? Just click the link to search for the code.
- Choose how many activities you’d like to promote and select the language and currency.
- To show activities you’ve chosen yourself, select Specific URLs and enter their GetYourGuide URLs.
- If there are activities that shouldn’t appear in your widget, click Advanced and enter their URLs to exclude them.
Adding a widget to your site
- No matter which widget you choose, you’ll have to add the code for it to your site. When creating your widget in the Solutions tab, click Tracking and select where you’ll place the widget.
- Add a campaign name so you can track how many readers click and book through the widget.
- Check out the widget preview on the left side of your screen.
- If you’re happy with how it looks, copy and paste the code to your web page or blog post.
- Don’t forget to also add the JavaScript code snippet to your site. You only need to add it once per page.
- Congratulations, your widget is live. You'll now get paid for each booking your readers.

Integrating API
API stands for Application Programming Interface, which is “an interface or communication protocol between different parts of a computer program intended to simplify the implementation and maintenance of software.”*
Four levels of API access:
- Basic (teaser) access API
Partners can retrieve generic description, image, rating and price of tours. - Reading access API
Partners can retrieve full description, price, options, and availability of tours. - Booking access API
Partners can retrieve full description, price, options, and availability of tours, perform bookings, and execute payments. - Masterbill access API
Same level of access as the Booking API, but partner acts as the merchant of record.
What criteria do you need to meet to qualify for API access?
- Basic (teaser): minimum 100k visits or downloads (app)
- Reading: minimum traffic of 1M and a minimum of 300 monthly bookings (for partners who already have a "basic" API)
- Booking API/Masterbill API: please reach out to your partner manager
- For all-access levels: partner needs to have a technical capability or a team in order to integrate with GetYourGuide API. We cannot guarantee technical onboarding support
Why consider an API integration
- Customize your widgets
- Retrieve data directly and perform bookings
- Enjoy an automated, efficient and personalized integration
An API integration isn’t for you if
- You don’t have a technical team to build the integration (GetYourGuide are unable to offer full onboarding support)
- You have limited time/capacity
- You don’t meet the volume criteria
Please reach out to your partner manager if you want to discuss API integration.
